Lurke and DolphinRadar both track Instagram follow activity, but they work differently. Lurke is a native iPhone and Android app: you sign in to Lurke and add a public profile by username, with no Instagram password. DolphinRadar is a web dashboard: you sign in to a DolphinRadar account in a browser, and its homepage says viewing public content doesn't require connecting your Instagram account.

Where DolphinRadar may suit you better
- It works in a browser on any device, with nothing to install.
- Its own homepage lists a broader toolset than Lurke's: Stories and Highlights downloading, comment viewing, engagement analytics, and influencer discovery, alongside follow tracking.
- Its homepage separately advertises private-account viewing and profile searching as features; we have not tested this claim, and it is not something Lurke offers or attempts, since Instagram does not make a private account's data publicly available.
Where Lurke may suit you better
- Lurke is a native iPhone and Android app, with alerts on your phone for Pro members after a completed scan finds a change.
- Lurke's Pro prices are published on lurke.app before you install: $7.99 a week, $14.99 a month or $39.99 a year (US App Store, checked October 26, 2026). A Lifetime plan and occasional special offers can also appear in the app.
- A dedicated public page (lurke.app/is-lurke-safe) states the company name, what data is collected, and how to delete your account. DolphinRadar's pages we checked did not show an equivalent company name or support contact.
How we checked this
We compared Lurke and DolphinRadar using DolphinRadar's own website, including the structured pricing data published on its plan page, checked November 5, 2026, plus App Store and Google Play searches that found no DolphinRadar app under that name. We did not test DolphinRadar ourselves, and nothing here ranks or recommends one product over the other. For a wider, disclosed look at other recent-follow apps, see our comparison of tracker apps. If a fact above is wrong or has changed, contact Lurke and we'll review it.
Is DolphinRadar an app or a website?
A website. We found no DolphinRadar app on the App Store or Google Play as of November 5, 2026; it is a web dashboard you use in a browser at dolphinradar.com. Lurke, by comparison, is a native app for iPhone and Android with no web tracking dashboard of its own.
Does DolphinRadar need my Instagram password?
Its own homepage says viewing public content doesn't require connecting your Instagram account: “Access public content smoothly, without connecting your own account.” You do sign in to a DolphinRadar account to use the dashboard, just as you sign in to Lurke to use the app; neither is your Instagram password. Lurke does not ask for your Instagram password.
Can either one see private Instagram accounts?
Lurke cannot. Lurke works with public Instagram profiles only; a private account's lists are not visible to it. DolphinRadar's own homepage lists “private account viewing” among its features, a claim we have not tested and cannot independently confirm, since Instagram does not make a private account's data available to third-party apps in general.
Which is cheaper?
It depends on the plan and billing period you'd actually choose, so compare the numbers directly rather than treating one as simply cheaper. Lurke Pro, on the US App Store checked October 26, 2026, is $7.99 a week, $14.99 a month, or $39.99 a year; a Lifetime plan and occasional special offers can also appear in the app. DolphinRadar's own plan page, checked November 5, 2026, lists Monthly at $4.49, Quarterly at $10.99, and Annual at $32.99. Prices and offers change, so check each product's current page before you pay.
